The 2015 Australian Cycling Awards in Melbourne proved to be a triumphant night for Troy Brosnan, receiving the Men’s Elite Mountain Biker of the year award.

Brosnan was nominated as a finalist alongside fellow Australian Elite Men, Jason English and Jarrod Greaves.

I’m really excited to receive the mountain biker of the year award after having a good season with some ups and downs,” Brosnan said.

Following a stellar season of racing, Brosnan was grateful for the recognition by Cycling Australia and his fellow competitors.

Brosnan finished sixth at the World Championships and third overall in the UCI Downhill World Cup Series in 2015.

It is a great final win to have this award to top off the year,” Brosnan said.

Janine Jungfels received the accolade for the Elite Female Award for the second year straight.

The awards night was fun, it was great to see all the athletes receiving trophies and the Oppy Medal going to Rohan Dennis,” Brosnan said.

Brosnan is headed to Cairns in conjunction with Ride Cairns and Tropical North Queensland Tourism during November for a film project.

The film will promote the beautiful Cairns region before it hosts the upcoming 2017 World Championships.

I’m looking forward to next year already and want to improve way beyond what I achieved this year,” Brosnan said.
