The Classic track has been hosting UCI events since 1991, and hosted Round 6 of the Championship over the weekend.

Brosnan was ecstatic to be racing on a track that has produced such great memories over the span of his career.

MSA IS ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS DOWNHILL WORLD CUP RACES WITH AN AMAZING TRACK, I WON MY FIRST JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AT THIS TRACK BACK IN 2010 AND I HAVE MANY GREAT MEMORIES RACING HERE.

The Specialized Racer had a great first day on track in practice, feeling comfortable with his fast and loose runs.

THE FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE WENT REALLY GOOD, THE TRACK HAD A FEW CHANGES AND WAS FLOWING WELL! I FELT COMFORTABLE AND FAST.

A change in the weather assisted Brosnan in his Qualifying session, with a smooth ride seeing him finish 3rd.

QUALIFYING DAY IT RAINED A TINY BIT OVER NIGHT AND SETTLED THE DUST FOR AT LEAST THE FIRST RUN! MY QUALIFYING RUN WAS REALLY SMOOTH, ALMOST TOO SMOOTH AS I FINISHED IN 3RD PLACE, 5 SECONDS BEHIND FIRST. I KNEW I COULD CHANGE A COUPLE LINES AND MAKE UP SOME TIME FOR RACE DAY.

Extra rain on the Saturday night made the track wet for practice, but the conditions quickly changed prior to the race.

I WOKE UP ON RACE DAY TO SEE IT HAD RAINED A LOT, IT MADE THE TRACK REALLY SLIPPERY FOR THE MORNING’S PRACTICE BUT WAS GOING TO DRY OUT A LOT BY MY RACE TIME.

Brosnan finished with a time of 4:03.418 to finish 4th and stand on the podium, and now sits second in the Championship Standings.

MY RACE RUN WAS FAST AND LOOSE ONLY HAVING ONE MASSIVE MISTAKE UP THE TOP AND BROUGHT IT HOME FOR 4TH PLACE AND ANOTHER PODIUM!”

With only one round remaining at Vallnord, Brosnan is sitting 3rd overall and prepared to race hard and finish off the Championship strong.

Round 7 of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup will be held in Vallnord on the 3-4 of September.

I’M REALLY STOKED ON HAVING SUCH A CONSISTENT YEAR AND BEEN HIGH UP IN THE POINTS!
